Djokovic 365 weeks peak, towards the record of “dominating the world” (tennis rankings 11/4)
(Sports news, tennis news) According to the latest ATP tennis rankings, Novak Djokovic has reached week 365 to hold the world No. 1 position, the Serbian tennis player is very close to the most special tennis record.
From the beginning of 2022, Novak Djokovic has only competed in one tournament, but the Serbian tennis player is still regularly ranked at the top of the world tennis rankings. He only “gave” to Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev to hold the top of the ATP tennis men’s singles rankings for exactly 3 weeks (from February 28 to March 20).
Djokovic touches week 365 to hold No. 1
Currently, only 10 points better than Medvedev, but Nole is still the number 1 player in the world. April 11 also marks the 365th week of holding the “top” of Nole’s men’s singles chart. Djokovic has the opportunity to widen the point gap with No. 2 Medvedev if he gets a good result at the ongoing Monte Carlo in Monaco.
While Nole only had to defend 90 points, Medvedev needed to preserve 180 at Monte Carlo. Therefore, if he wins his third championship at the Masters 1,000 in Monaco, the Serbian will create a point gap of more than 1,000 points with the world No. 2 opponent.
Reaching the 365th week to hold the No. 1, Djokovic is now 55 weeks ahead of the legendary Roger Federer at the top. The Serbian tennis player is also aiming for the special record of Steffi Graf, the German tennis legend who holds 377 weeks at the WTA women’s singles No.
Nole needs to stay at No. 1 for another 13 weeks to become the most numbered player in world tennis history.
There were no major events in both men’s and women’s singles last week, so there was little movement at the top. It is expected that next week, when Monte Carlo closes, there will be many significant changes.
