House inspired by containers, unique in the whole district
Returning to her hometown after 15 years of living and working in Ho Chi Minh City, Ms. Th’s family. I want to find a peaceful place where I can settle down and settle down, just relax and enjoy a simple life. The house partly meets these needs, with a sunny courtyard, fresh green pieces embracing the modern architectural space, breaking with many unique details and interiors designed by the owners themselves.
Sharing about the idea of building a house, the owner said: “3 – 4 years ago, I went to a container cafe in Da Nang. Facing my eyes are the beautifully arranged and unique container blocks. So I crushed the word and told my architect friend that I would build a house like that in the future.”
The project is inspired by the container, has a box-shaped structure.
The current house has the appearance of 4 stacked containers. To simulate the container, the owner and the construction team spend a lot of time, meticulously creating each neat line on the frame of the cement house. Even Ms. had to take 6 months off from work to guide and supervise the project perfectly in every detail. Building a unique house in the middle of a small countryside, 8X encountered many bad jokes.
She said: “When we first started, people didn’t understand what we were building. Because then, they only see separate blocks, without the structure of ordinary houses. Sometimes I even hear passersby say to each other: “Who’s doing something that’s so weird”. I just find it funny. When the house is completed and planted with enough trees, everyone wants to visit and take pictures. They say the whole district only has its own house that is different. I myself don’t want to build a house like anyone else (laughs)”.
The “container” is meticulously molded. Because of the unique design, Ms. Th. must choose skilled workers for construction.
It is known that the total cost of construction and interior decoration is about 1.2 billion dong, including items of materials (about 350 million dong), labor (300 million dong), aluminum and glass doors, room doors. 100 million dong), electricity and water (80 million dong), total separate furniture (350 million dong) and incurred costs about 20 million dong.
Self-smashing stones, painting walls, interior design
The house is built in the northwest direction, with a view of the cool field. The total area is 125m2 with a usable area of 95m2, including 1 ground floor and 1 floor. In particular, the main door is built on the side to match the feng shui of the couple. Because she intentionally placed a garden in the middle of the house, Ms. Th. Take advantage of as much natural light as possible. The spiral staircase is also the highlight, in harmony with the curves dotted around the house.
To make the most of the space, the homeowner revealed: “The secret is to create a multi-functional space such as the kitchen near the living room, the position of the dining table connected to each other without partitions, the separate bedroom, surrounded by green trees, so it looks airy and bright. bark more. Besides, I also make full use of the space, for example, adding circles, squares, triangles, … under the stairs to make a play place for the children.”

Many details and furniture are completed by the owner himself. For example, the curved wall following the spiral of the stairs, Mrs. Th and her husband. I mixed the colors myself, glued the box and painted it from dark to light in 2 days. The garden’s stairs and iron frame were also made by her husband. Unique copper pendant lights. All the furniture in the house from sofa table, dining table, kitchen cabinet, display cabinet, bar, bed, … are individually closed in cardboard.

The interior of the house is mainly self-designed and then hired workers to build in a rustic style, reusing old wood to get its original color as well as its natural beauty.
The stone wall at the entrance is natural stone, broken down and built on top of each other. Mrs. Th and her husband. spent 4 days threshing small stones, builders took 4 more days to complete. Ms. Th. said: “Natural stone is not sharp, but it is cheap and cool, the more you use it, the more glossy it is, but it is not easily scratched like ceramic tiles.”
The unique stone wall is made entirely from natural stone, by the owner smashing each stone and then having the worker put it together.
Loving nature and a fresh life, the owner devotes a lot of attention to the green spaces. At the kitchen window, Ms. Th. planting peach fairy, fern, apricot tree and ginger grass. The swing area has star fruit tree, beside the bedroom window are Thai sand bananas, bay flowers and ginger grass. Bring the garden into the house, the most important thing is to provide enough light for green plants. In addition to creating an airy open space, homeowners also make grid cells and light corrugated iron roofing to get natural light.

“When the house is completed according to my taste, every detail from the very small interior in the house is also hand-picked, so I feel very happy and satisfied, very good value for money. In my opinion, a house is not simply four walls with a porch, but a place of love and happiness every time we think about it.
