Instagram complains about users reposting videos from TikTok

Instagram is making a series of changes through a greater focus on content creators. According to Instagram head Adam Mosseri, the move is meant to ensure that “the rewards go to those who deserve it”.

“If you create something from scratch, you’ll get more favors over sharing what you find from other people. We’ll do a lot of things to show respect for content. original rather than reposted content” – Mosseri shared.

According to The Verge, this action of Instagram is like asking users to stop re-uploading videos from the social network TikTok to their platform. Instead of being just a tool to connect friends like before, Meta has now oriented Facebook and Instagram to become platforms focused on content creators. In particular, the Reels feature on Facebook and Instagram is considered the focus of this effort.

In essence, Reels is a feature that helps users create short videos with a maximum duration of 30 seconds on the phone. This is a feature similar to TikTok, allowing to create short videos with options to insert audio, filter, text …. For videos created on Instagram, users also have the option to share them to the Facebook feed.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has called these short-form videos “the company’s fastest-growing content format”. However, users after using Reels all find this tool just like a copy of TikTok.
